Absa Bank Kenya has announced a significant KSh 5.3 billion profit after tax for the first quarter of 2026, demonstrating resilience amidst economic challenges. The strong financial performance comes as Tanzania's Swahilies fintech company received a Payment Service Provider license from the Central Bank of Tanzania, marking regional expansion in East Africa's financial sector. In the telecom sector, Airtel Kenya is set to receive a substantial $100 million equivalent from the International Finance Corporation to bolster mobile network expansion and refinance existing debt, indicating continued investment in Kenya's telecommunications infrastructure.
