President William Ruto has defended the establishment of an Ebola preparedness facility at Laikipia Air Base, emphasizing the need for preparedness against potential outbreaks. A court has reaffirmed orders halting the facility's construction, with Katiba Institute lawyer Joshua Malidzo announcing the court ordered the government to disclose details of the agreement. Kenya has become a critical hub for genome testing of regional Ebola samples, with 2,200 health workers trained so far. Principal Secretary Ouma Oluga stated the government is implementing comprehensive measures to prevent Ebola entry, while the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has voiced concerns. President Ruto also urged politicians to avoid reckless talk and maintain calm over the facility.
