Kenya is intensifying its surveillance and preparedness measures against the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), having screened over 80,000 travelers at various points of entry, with all 56 suspected samples testing negative. The government is reinforcing surveillance and preparedness measures due to regional outbreaks in neighboring Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Kakamega County government is establishing two Ebola quarantine centres to bolster Kenya's preparedness. However, Kenyans are expressing significant fear and anger over the United States establishing a quarantine facility at the Laikipia Air Base.
