The Kenyan government has proposed a substantial budgetary allocation of Sh177.2 billion to the health sector for the 2026/27 financial year, signaling a strong commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage. The health sector budget has seen a significant increase to Ksh177.2 billion, a rise of Ksh39.1 billion, aimed at bolstering service delivery under Taifa Care and Universal Health Coverage. The Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has presented the 2026/27 National Budget, allocating a significant sum to inject new momentum into the Universal Health Coverage initiative.
