Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) has successfully energized the new 400kV Isinya–Konza Transmission Line and the Konza Substation, ensuring a stable power supply for the burgeoning Konza Technopolis and the surrounding lower eastern region.

• The project includes a 98-kilometre double-circuit 400kV line and a 400/132/66kV substation with four transformers.

Motorists in Kenya will benefit from reduced fuel prices as the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has slashed the cost of diesel and petrol in its latest monthly review, effective from midnight.

• A litre of diesel has been cut by Sh10 to Sh222.86.
• The price of petrol has seen a minor reduction of Sh0.22 to Sh214.03 per litre.
• EPRA attributed the adjustments to changes in the average landed cost of imported petroleum products.

Kenya Airways (KQ) is facing renewed operational disruptions due to difficulties in sourcing aircraft engines and parts, resulting in at least five planes being grounded and significantly impacting its passenger capacity.

• The grounded fleet, comprising three Embraer jets and two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, represents an estimated 18% reduction in KQ's available seats.
• George Kamal, Acting Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KQ, attributed the delays to global supply chain issues, with engines expected back between June 19 and July 15.
• The airline, which reported a net loss of Sh17.1 billion in 2025, hopes to return most grounded jets to operation by next month and restore its full fleet by year-end, partly by re-introducing a leased Boeing 777-300ER.
