President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have officially launched the Coffee Revival programme in Kianyaga, Kirinyaga county. The Kenyan government will clear its outstanding debt to coffee farmers, settling the 2 billion shilling debt over the next financial year and progressively in subsequent years. Additionally, the government aims to increase local consumption of coffee to guarantee a market for farmers. This initiative seeks to establish Kenya's own coffee brand and revive the coffee sector.
