Gachagua Warns Against June 25 Demonstrations, Citing Criminal Infiltration Risk - June 2026

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has cautioned against planned demonstrations on June 25, highlighting concerns that criminals could infiltrate such gatherings to cause chaos and engage in illegal activities. He has also appealed to the youth, specifically Gen Z, to stay home and avoid participating in the planned demonstrations. Ahead of the scheduled protests, religious leaders and activists have issued a strong call for peace and non-viol amongst all participants. A June 25th protest is scheduled to take place, raising questions about its potential effectiveness in achieving its stated goals.

Gachagua warns against demonstrations, citing the risk of infiltration by criminals.
