A devastating fire ripped through the Githogoro informal settlement in Nairobi, leaving hundreds of families destitute and their homes in ruins. Gikomba traders are demanding urgent fire safety upgrades and a swift resettlement process following a recent series of market fires. Over 50 families in Kahawa Wendani are also demanding compensation after their homes were allegedly demolished through an order from the Kiambu County Government.
