Moi University has announced a steady recovery following months of severe financial crisis, assuring students, staff, and parents that operations have not been disrupted.

• The university owes over Ksh8 billion in debt and more than Ksh10 billion in pending bills, with liabilities dating back to 2014.
• This reassurance comes from Moi University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Kiplagat Kotut, after addressing the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Education.
• Despite past concerns over frozen bank accounts and fears of an auction in April, teaching, examinations, and graduations continue as scheduled, and staff salaries are being paid on time.

The Moi University Council presented a six-point plan to the National Assembly Education Committee to revive the financially struggling institution, promising significant improvements within six months.

• A key strategy involves reducing the wage bill, which currently consumes 81 percent of the university's income.
• The council, led by Chairman Prof Noah Midamba and acting Vice-Chancellor Kiplagat Kotut, is implementing staff rationalization, auditing academic certificates, and verifying Sh10 billion in outstanding bills.
• Despite recent successes like paying staff on time, the university faces historical debts of Sh10 billion and requires at least Sh1.9 billion for recurrent expenditure in the next financial year.

Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge has officially opened newly renovated classrooms at Chebulbul Primary School in Elgeyo Marakwet County, thanks to a significant donation.

• Sh1 million was donated by the Chris Kirubi Foundation (via HACO Chairperson Maryanne Kirubi) to the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation for the school's refurbishment.
• The renovated classrooms will serve students from PP1 up to Grade 6.
