The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a specialized 7-week bomb technician training called the Explosive Incident Countermeasures Course to enhance national security preparedness against explosive threats.

• The training, which began on July 6 at the Border Police College in Kanyonyo, is designed to equip elite officers from various security units with essential skills in handling explosive devices.
• Key participants include officers from the Bomb Disposal Unit and the Administration Police Special Operations Group.
• The course, funded by the U.S. through its Anti-Terrorism Assistance Programme, covers theoretical fundamentals and practical skills like rendering-safe procedures, transportation, and storage of explosives.

Detectives are investigating a possible link between four suspected gang members killed in Uasin Gishu County and the murder of a PCEA Reverend, as well as several violent robberies across the Rift Valley.

• The suspects are believed to have operated as an organized criminal gang since late last year, posing as police and military officers.
• Investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are analyzing evidence, including a recovered Falcon pistol, to determine involvement in previous crimes.
• The gang allegedly used security uniforms and firearms, including an AK-47 rifle and a pistol, to rob motorists.

Kisumu Central MP Joshua Oron has donated six motorbikes to chiefs and assistant chiefs in Kisumu Central to bolster security operations and combat rising crime.

• Six motorbikes were donated through the Kisumu Central National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
• The donation aims to improve mobility and response times for local administrators tackling criminal gangs.
• MP Oron also urged the county government to repair non-functional street lights, stating that poor lighting contributes to increased crime.
