A tragic head-on collision between a Kenyan-registered trailer and a passenger bus on the Kampala-Gulu Highway in Uganda has resulted in the deaths of 14 people. The crash occurred at Bobi Trading Centre on the night of Tuesday, July 7.

• The vehicles involved were a Mercedes-Benz Actros trailer with Kenyan plates, driven by a Kenyan national, and an Isuzu passenger bus.

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has announced the upcoming arrival of a crucial jet fuel shipment, alongside 47 other cargo vessels, at the ports of Mombasa and Lamu within the next 14 days.

• A ship carrying Jet A1 fuel is expected at the Port of Mombasa on July 9.
• This arrival precedes the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) monthly fuel price review by seven days.
• In addition to fuel, other expected cargo includes fertilizer, palm oil, rice, wheat, and various industrial and vehicle imports.

Police in Kenya have intercepted a public service vehicle (PSV) and seized a significant haul of cannabis, arresting one passenger in connection with the illegal operation.
