Severe drought in Kenya's Trans Nzoia county is threatening the nation's food security as vast quantities of maize crops are destroyed. Sugarcane farmers from Busia county are separately protesting proposed amendments to the Sugar Act, arguing that the changes will negatively impact their livelihoods. MP Kagombe has opposed Kiambu County's new levy on agricultural products, stating that the levy cannot be paid.
