An autopsy performed on the body of Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Legal Services Manager Esther Wairimu Keige has been inconclusive, with investigators awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of her death.

• The body of Esther Wairimu Keige was discovered on June 11, 2026, after she was reported missing on June 10, 2026.
• The autopsy was conducted by Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH).
• Investigators are also looking into reports from pupils at a nearby school who may have seen Keige asking for food before her body was found in an isolated coffee plantation near Karimenu, Juja, Kiambu County.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has stated that homicide has not been ruled out in the death of Esther Wairimu Keige, the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Legal Services Manager, whose body was discovered in Juja, Kiambu County.

• Keige went missing on June 10, 2026, after being dropped off at a petrol station to inquire about gym services.
• Her decomposed body was found on July 6, 2026, in a makeshift shelter.
• Investigations are ongoing, with detectives awaiting toxicological and forensic examination results.
• The KFS manager had reportedly been battling depression and had disappeared from home previously.
