Goons armed with bows, arrows, and machetes attempted to storm St. Stephen's ACK Cathedral in Kisumu while prominent opposition leaders Governor James Orengo and Senator Edwin Sifuna were attending a church service on Sunday. One person sustained injuries during the incident, with police intervening to prevent the youths from entering the cathedral. Meanwhile, Kenyans have expressed fear that the Ol-Kalou by-elections might feature a wave of brutality similar to recent incidents. The driver of Murang'a Senator Wahome Kang'ata was shot by goons amidst a rally in Nyahururu. In response, Senator Sifuna stated that goons and violence will not stop or intimidate them. Separately, former Cabinet Minister Eugene Wamalwa has urged the IEBC to crack down on politicians using goons to incite violence, while Mau Mau veterans have called for an end to political intimidation and violence.
