Goons Armed With Bows and Arrows Attempt to Storm Kisumu Church Hosting Orengo, Sifuna - July 2026

Goons armed with bows, arrows, and machetes attempted to storm St. Stephen's ACK Cathedral in Kisumu on Sunday while prominent leaders including Governor James Orengo and Ndingwa Sifuna were attending a church service. One person sustained injuries during the attempted disruption, and police intervened to prevent the youths from entering the cathedral. Two people died in Kisumu, and eight suspects were brought to court following the church invasion. Separately, Kang'ata's driver was shot by goons amidst a Nyahururu rally. Mau Mau veterans have called for an end to political intimidation and violence, while Senator Maanzo and Eugene Wamalwa have urged authorities to crack down on goonism.
