The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) deployed over 1,000 police officers to ensure a peaceful by-election in Ol Kalou on Thursday, issuing a stern warning to busybody politicians interfering with the process. Candidates concluded their campaigns with final submissions, including rallies in Ngorika and at the Arboretum. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen pledged that the elections would be conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. However, Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua accused the IEBC of bias ahead of the by-election, raising questions about the electoral body's impartiality.
