Political analysts have indicated that the Ol Kalou by-election outcome signals trouble for President William Ruto in the Mt Kenya region. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua stated that the Ol Kalou win indicates President Ruto will only serve a single term, made during a victory parade for the newly elected Ol Kalou MP-elect Sammy Kamau Waweru. The opposition celebrated the victory while UDA was forced into damage control. ODM dismissed the DCP's Ol Kalou victory, stating that one by-election cannot predict the 2027 elections. The Maa Council of Elders issued a warning threatening to withdraw their backing for President Ruto in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
