Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has petitioned the Senate to compel the National Treasury to provide senators with monthly Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) data, raising transparency concerns about government spending. This comes as the Kenyan government has allocated substantial funds towards mitigating the rising cost of living by spending Sh945 million on fuel subsidies and Sh1.8 billion on drought relief efforts. Separately, the Nairobi County Government has proposed a significant increase in daily parking fees as part of its new Tariffs and Pricing Policy 2025–2030.
