The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has initiated legal proceedings to reclaim 7.6 acres of land belonging to the Kenya Prisons Service in Kisumu's Milimani area, which it alleges was illegally converted to private ownership. The commission is pursuing recovery of land valued at approximately KSh790 million, issuing warnings to current title holders. Additionally, the EACC has launched separate legal efforts to reclaim a separate piece of prime land in Milimani estate valued at KSh4.3 billion. These cases represent ongoing efforts by the anti-corruption body to recover public land allegedly grabbed in the Kisumu area.
