Kenya Kwanza leaders defend administration amid political tensions - July 2026

Vitalis Ekuru as the new Bishop of the ACK Katakwa Diocese in Busia, where he declared that next year's polls will be peaceful, stating that peace is not negotiable. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi publicly guaranteed that the 2027 General Election will be conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, urging citizens to reject fear and ethnic division. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki called on the Mt Kenya region to maintain solidarity with the Kenya Kwanza administration, assuring them of their strong position within the government. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale stated that President Ruto's sole crime is his effort to unite Kenya by ensuring equitable development and services across all communities. Separately, Mudavadi urged Luhyas living outside the Western region to register as voters in their current areas of residence.
