Murkomen orders transfer of all Keringet Police Station officers - July 2026
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has ordered the immediate transfer of all police officers at Keringet Police Station in Nakuru County as part of a security intervention. This follows a separate major crackdown on drug and substance abuse where Murkomen ordered the complete transfer of officers from the same station. In related law enforcement action, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested three suspects and seized approximately 3,500 bags of suspected counterfeit fertilizer in Uasin Gishu County. Meanwhile, Kenya's Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja issued a strong warning to politicians and other protected individuals against misusing state security officers and hiring criminal gangs.
