The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested three individuals in connection with an alleged Sh4.8 million fraud involving non-existent rural electrification projects in Igembe North Constituency.

• Alleged theft of Sh4.8 million earmarked for six projects under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
• Arrested individuals include former NG-CDF Fund Manager Pauline Waruguru Mwangi and account signatories James Muroki Eusebio and James Ntonjira Ntongai.
• Investigators found no transformers were procured or installed, and neither the Rural Electrification Authority nor Kenya Power received any payment or communication regarding the projects.

Principal Secretary Stephen Isaboke has reiterated the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications' dedication to the responsible management of public resources and strengthened asset accountability. This was communicated during a session with the National Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
