Kenya's National Police Service (NPS) has arrested 90 suspected gang members in an intensified security operation targeting organised criminal networks in the Coast region. The arrests, made over the past two weeks, are part of an effort to dismantle gangs responsible for violent crime and extortion. Separately, prominent clinical psychologist and mental health researcher Dr Victoria Mutiso was tragically shot and killed by gunmen on a motorcycle in Nairobi on Wednesday morning, with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launching a thorough investigation. Police in Kisii are also investigating the death of female officer Marjorie Bosibori, who was found with a gunshot wound inside a locked room at the Kisii Central Police Station on the morning of Tuesday, July 29.
