President William Ruto announced a nationwide dialogue to chart Kenya's development roadmap beyond Vision 2030, beginning on August 12, 2026. This initiative aims to create a citizen-driven national development charter for the country's next phase of transformation. Professor Hiroyuki Professor Anyang' Nyong'o and their team have been appointed to develop Kenya's development strategy beyond 2030. Former Chief Justice David Maraga sharply criticized the proposed dialogue as a distraction from critical national issues, stating Kenyans deserve answers not new promises. Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Fred Matiang'i also termed the dialogue a distraction, saying Ruto must first fix governance.
