Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has strongly criticized Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's presidential aspirations, challenging his 40-year public service record and accusing the opposition of ethnic mobilization rather than presenting alternative visions. This confrontation comes as Kalonzo courts Mt Kenya voters ahead of the 2027 General Election, attempting to expand his political base beyond his traditional support regions. Meanwhile, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of misrepresenting the Mt Kenya community's political integrity in their criticism of President Ruto. At the same time, Uhuru Kenyatta is set to chair a crucial Azimio Council meeting to devise a strategy for selecting a single presidential candidate for the opposition coalition.
