Kenya's Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen announced the nationwide deployment of 200 newly trained DCI anti-narcotics officers to bolster the fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has also initiated a specialized VIP Security Course for Kenya Revenue Authority officers to enhance their protection skills. This follows the arrest of a 35-year-old suspect linked to a series of car break-ins in Nairobi who was apprehended after a failed escape attempt at Sameer Business Park, with DCI subsequently busting a sophisticated car break-in syndicate operating in Nairobi County.
