Muturi, Munya, Kivuti Reject Gachagua's Call to Join DCP - August 2026
Leaders of the Democratic Party, PNU, and Democratic Empowerment Party have rejected a call by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to dissolve their parties and join the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP). Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi challenged Gachagua to have UDA MPs allied to him resign and seek fresh mandates if he truly believes in political realignment. A segment of residents in Nandi County has voiced strong disapproval of Gachagua's recent statements, deeming them disrespectful towards President William Ruto and damaging to the office of the presidency. At the same time, the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party is undergoing a significant reorganisation and rebranding to prepare for the upcoming 2027 General Election.
