President William Ruto and ODM party leader Oburu Odinga are leading a three-day retreat in Naivasha for UDA and ODM leaders to consolidate their broad-based administration ahead of the August 2027 General Election. The meeting aims to define Ruto's 2027 game plan and discuss their political future. Meanwhile, allies of President Ruto are urging Western Kenya to support his re-election in 2027 and aim for the presidency in 2032, advising against fielding their own candidate this cycle. Separately, Muslim leaders have defended their recent visit to State House to meet President Ruto, clarifying that the engagement was driven by community grievances, not political endorsement ahead of the elections.
