Uchaguzi Platform Calls for 10 Electoral Reforms Ahead of 2027 Polls - August 2026

A coalition of civil society organizations under the Uchaguzi Platform is urging swift implementation of 10 key electoral reforms before the 2027 polls. The reforms aim to strengthen the electoral process. Separately, questions have emerged about the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's preparedness for the 2027 General Election due to a budget shortfall. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has also warned Kenya about the threat of political violence ahead of the 2027 election.
