Siaya Governor James Orengo similarly stated that the Linda Mwananchi rally in Homa Bay on Sunday will proceed as planned, despite alleged threats and plans to disrupt the event. Organizers of the Linda Mwananchi rally have officially notified the police of their planned event on August 16, 2026, with the notification to be formally lodged at the Homa Bay Police Station. Separately, the Orange Democratic Movement Party issued a stern warning to DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua regarding his recent statements about the death of its founding father, Raila Odinga.
