Three Pakistani nationals have been arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after allegedly kidnapping two Indian nationals shortly after their arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

• The victims, Sandeep Sandeep and Ishwar Singh, were reportedly kidnapped on August 10, 2026, after clearing immigration.
• The DCI located the victims bound in a house in Tumaini Estate, Nkoroi, Kajiado South.
• Authorities state the suspects demanded a ransom of USD 32,000 (approximately Sh4 million) from the victims' families in India.

A Kenyan national has been arrested in Zambia in connection with an alleged plot to interfere with the country's electoral system ahead of the August 13 General Election.

• Michael Njuka, a 56-year-old Kenyan, is accused of being contracted for cybercrime targeting the state.
• The arrests were made by a Joint Investigations Team comprising Zambia's defence and security agencies.
• Three former senior government officials were also arrested for allegedly providing technical services to disrupt the electoral system, and over K7.3 million (Sh50.1 million) was recovered from three other individuals invited for questioning.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is enhancing its capacity to track illicit funds moving across borders, collaborating with Saudi Arabia through specialised training.

• The EACC is receiving support from Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA) under a 2023 Memorandum of Understanding.
• Key areas of training include asset recovery, beneficial ownership, and investigating complex corruption cases.
• This partnership aims to improve the detection of individuals and entities behind hidden assets and complex financial transactions, particularly in light of recent reports on public fund embezzlement.
