A primary school teacher in Kilifi County has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for abusing his position of authority to pursue a sexual relationship with a pupil.

• The teacher was convicted of abuse of position of authority contrary to Section 24(4) of the Sexual Offences Act.
• The pupil testified that the teacher wrote her a love letter and attempted to sexually assault her in a bush.
• The court heard that the offence occurred on October 21, 2021, in Ganze Sub-County.
