Kenyan opposition leaders have announced a People's Forum on Electoral Preparedness scheduled for October 9, aiming to unite various groups and prevent violence ahead of the 2027 General Election. Separately, the opposition is renewing its campaign to prevent Smartmatic from being involved in the 2027 General Election, signaling early battles over the technology that will manage the vote. At the same time, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission is expanding its investigation into alleged hate speech and ethnic profiling, with several prominent politicians summoned for questioning as Kenya approaches the 2027 election cycle.
