Former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has definitively ruled out any return to politics and refuted allegations that he is sponsoring the opposition to destabilize President William Ruto's administration. Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta stated that Kenyans will decide their president in the 2027 General Election and denied claims he is sponsoring opposition politicians. Government leaders subsequently accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of misleading opposition leaders and urged those claiming his financial support to distance themselves from him. At the same time, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has threatened to lead the Maasai community out of the Orange Democratic Movement party, citing alleged betrayal by party officials supporting rival UDA candidates.
