Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has rejected a proposed seat-zoning plan for opposition parties, asserting that all seats except the presidency will be open for competition in 2027. He has also declared himself the preferred presidential candidate for the United Alternative Government, while expressing willingness to step aside for a stronger opposition candidate. Meanwhile, Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan officially left the Jubilee Party to join Gachagua's Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), signaling a potential shift in Nairobi's political landscape. Gachagua revealed the concerns Kenyans shared with him during recent political consultations, outlining their desires for the next administration.
