Women MPs Condemn Gachagua Over Gender-Based Political Violence - August 2026
A group of 15 Women Members of Parliament have condemned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for alleged gender-based political violence and attacks targeting women leaders and their families. The women lawmakers accused Gachagua of engaging in gender-based political violence through his public utterances against women leaders who hold opposing political views. Separately, several ODM Members of Parliament from the Nyanza region have publicly criticized DCP leader Gachagua, urging him to cease his political engagements in their area.
