A man in Machakos has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a buyer of Sh2.4 million by posing as a genuine landowner.

• The suspect, identified as David Maitha, allegedly used a stolen identity, a forged title deed, and a fake national ID.
• The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) led the arrest following an intelligence-led operation in Mtito Andei.
• The fraud was uncovered after the buyer grew suspicious when the supposed seller became unreachable post-payment, prompting a police investigation.
