Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has clarified the process for first-year students wishing to change their university courses.

• First-year students seeking an interfaculty transfer within their current institution must engage their respective universities directly, as KUCCPS does not handle these internal changes.
• The clarification comes in response to numerous queries from students aiming to switch courses at the same university they were initially placed in.
• Students eligible for inter-university transfers can still apply even after the August 14 deadline, with those who sat KCSE in 2025 eligible for transfers in 2026 and/or 2027.
