Kenya Power is investing Sh1 billion to connect Lodwar Town, Turkana County, to the national grid, aiming to replace costly and unreliable diesel generators.

• Investment of Sh1 billion to build a new substation and a 90-kilometre transmission line.
• Kenya Power, led by its Managing Director and CEO Joseph Siror, is undertaking the project.
• The connection is expected to benefit over 80,000 residents by providing stable electricity and significantly reducing annual operational costs, which currently stand at approximately Sh900 million for diesel fuel.

Former Dhabiti Sacco CEO Titus Miriti Munjuri has been charged with allegedly stealing Sh20.7 million from the cooperative union.

• The alleged theft occurred between January 2, 2025, and June 7, 2025.
• The accused is Titus Miriti Munjuri, the former CEO of Dhabiti Sacco.
• Munjuri was granted a Sh2 million bond or a Sh1 million cash bail, with a pre-trial hearing set for September 28, 2026.

Fuel prices in Kenya will remain unchanged for another month, according to an announcement by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra).

• Petrol will continue to retail at Sh214.03 per litre, diesel at Sh217.86 per litre, and kerosene at Sh191.38 per litre in Nairobi.
• The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra), the energy regulator, made the announcement on Monday.
• Despite mixed international oil markets, the stable pump prices were partly cushioned by a price stabilisation mechanism that absorbed surpluses on petrol and diesel.
