Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has launched Africa's largest share sale yet with the initial public offering (IPO) of his oil refinery, aiming to raise up to $2.1 billion from the general public. This marks the continent's biggest share sale. Separately, Kenyan President William Ruto announced that the government is in talks with Dangote to construct a crude oil pipeline from Lamu to Turkana as part of his planned multi-trillion shilling refinery in Lamu. The pipeline project represents a significant expansion of Dangote's African energy infrastructure ambitions beyond the Nigerian refinery.
