Kenya has secured a multi-billion-shilling grant from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to fund preparations for the Mau Summit-Malaba Highway, a crucial section of the Northern Corridor. Kenya is actively seeking new investors for the expansion of the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, shifting its focus to South Korean financiers after U.S. firm Everstrong Capital exited its planned expressway project. Kenya has presented 13 priority infrastructure projects to global investors at the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference (GICC) 2026 in Seoul, South Korea, seeking long-term financing. The Australia East Africa Chamber of Commerce has been launched in Nairobi to bolster trade, investment, and partnerships between Australia and the East African region.
