Anglican Church Raises Concerns Over Kenya's Economic and Electoral Climate - September 2026

The Anglican Church has expressed deep concern over Kenya's deteriorating economic situation, citing the high cost of living impacting citizens. The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) is urging the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure the 2027 general election is conducted freely and fairly. ODM National Chairperson Gladys Wanga has called on Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to cease making remarks about the 2022 general election results. President William Ruto has once again called for an increase in permanent African seats within the United Nations Security Council.
