Public Participation Begins on Laws Addressing Historical Land Injustices at the Coast - October 2026
Public participation has commenced on new laws aimed at addressing historical land injustices along the Kenyan Coast. This initiative seeks to resolve long-standing land disputes and ensure equitable land distribution. The government has allocated Sh10 billion to create title deeds to address the land ownership problem at the Coast. This funding is part of efforts to resolve chronic land ownership disputes in the region. In a separate development, residents of Narok East are in distress following a series of elephant raids on their farms. The community is urgently calling for the Kenya Wildlife Service to compensate victims for the damages incurred.
