The Court of Appeal has temporarily halted the eviction of Jihan Freighters Limited by Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) over a disputed 18-acre parcel of land intended for fertiliser distribution.

• Judge Stephen Kibunja ruled that the eviction would cause irreparable harm to the private firm and its employees.
• The court's decision follows KRC's previous eviction of the company, which claimed its operations and finances suffered.
• The private firm argues it had a lease agreement for nine years at Sh4.8 million per annum, while KRC stated the eviction was due to violations of tenancy terms concerning the use of the property.
