Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has restricted access to key locations in Masalani, Garissa, and Tana River counties by designating them as protected areas for security purposes.

• Access restrictions will be enforced strictly by the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), Noordin Haji.
• The announcement was made in an official notice dated May 16, in accordance with the Protected Areas Act (Cap. 204).
• Unauthorised individuals will need formal approval to enter these sensitive areas housing intelligence operations.
