President William Samoei Ruto presided over the swearing-in of newly promoted and appointed General Officers of the Kenya Defence Forces at State House, Nairobi, on June 28.

• Major General David Keter was promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed as the new Commander of the Kenya Army.
• Major General Benard Waliaula was appointed as the new Commander of the Kenya Air Force, succeeding Major General Fatuma Ahmed, the first woman to hold the position.
• The promotions reflect a focus on merit, with notable advancements including the promotion of Brigadier Faustino Mancha Lobaly to Major General and new roles for several other officers across the Kenya Defence Forces.
