Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has boldly stated that he can lead the Mt Kenya region politically from prison, challenging President William Ruto to arrest him.

• Gachagua expressed confidence in his mentees to take over his political role, stating, "Even if you imprison me, I will give direction to Mt Kenya from Kamiti Maximum Prison."
• He criticized the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for failing to arrest those responsible for recent violent protests, claiming they were targeting him unfairly.
• During a funeral service in Kinangop, Nyandarua County, Gachagua remarked on his significance in mobilizing voters for Ruto, calling out the President's use of him to gain power.
