Kenya's cross-border trade has seen a significant slowdown in early 2025, reflecting a cautionary global trade environment.

• Export earnings declined by 6.9 percent to Sh276.7 billion from Sh297.3 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
• The data was released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).
• Trade with Africa, Kenya’s largest market, fell by 10 percent, while exports to Burundi and South Africa were exceptions, showing growth of 46.9 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively.
