Kenya's cross-border trade has seen a significant slowdown in early 2025, reflecting a cautionary global trade environment.

Export earnings declined by 6.9 percent to Sh276.7 billion from Sh297.3 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
The data was released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).
Trade with Africa, Kenya’s largest market, fell by 10 percent, while exports to Burundi and South Africa were exceptions, showing growth of 46.9 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively.
