Kawira Mwangaza has been appointed as the new leader of the Umoja na Maendeleo Party, following a gazette notice from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).

• Kawira Mwangaza replaces Charles Wambora Mugambi and has a week to address any opposition to her new role.
• The move comes three months after her departure from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
• Changes within the party include Victor Koome Mwangaza as deputy and new leadership in various positions, with a new office location in Kamuketha Building, Meru.
