Detectives in Kirinyaga East Sub-County have arrested a man posing as a police officer, recovering various government items during the operation.

• Newton Wachira Waweru was apprehended after detectives acted on intelligence reports.
• During a search of his premises in Thika’s Makongeni, items recovered included two police smoke jackets, two jungle green trousers, and a replica firearm.
• Waweru is now in custody and undergoing processing before his arraignment, with further investigations launched into his possible criminal activities.
