The County Government of Turkana has announced plans to establish a world-class disaster response hub in collaboration with the Kenya Red Cross, aiming to enhance emergency preparedness for both local and neighboring regions.

This hub will be built on ten acres of land donated by the County Government.
Dr. John Erus, the Deputy Governor, emphasized the hub's importance given Turkana's history of recurrent disasters.
Once completed, the facility will become the eleventh disaster response hub in the country and target hard-to-reach areas for efficient disaster management.
